CPAS Patronage

The largest patron in the Church of England

Whether you are a vicar, a churchwarden or PCC seeking to find your next vicar, a church leader looking for your next post or a member of diocesan staff involved in a patronage process, we are here to help you.

We work collaboratively with parishes, dioceses, and other patrons to make the appointment process as smooth as possible. For our own patronage churches, we guide you every step of the way, and we’re always happy to assist churchwardens and diocesan staff with the complexities of clergy movement.

Alongside vacancies, we offer resources and events to help churches and leaders thrive in mission.

Vacancies

We are passionate about helping churches thrive by appointing the right leaders. Every year, we support the appointment of over 100 vicars across the UK, partnering with parishes to ensure they find the person God is calling to lead them forward.

As the largest patron in the Church of England, we support over 700 parishes and are involved in around 100 clergy appointments each year. Our heart is to see Jesus-centred, mission-focused leaders serving churches across the country.

Patronage explained

A historic tradition where individuals or organisations hold the unique right to present a priest to a parish when a vacancy arises, a practice that continues to shape the life of the Church today.
