Leading Well

Investing in Christian leaders and nurturing Missional Churches

Leading well as a Christian leader, lay or ordained, is both stimulating and demanding.

Multiple responsibilities, complex relationships, and unclear expectations can stretch both confidence and our sense of capacity.

Leading Well is an online course designed to help you intentionally invest in two vital areas of your leadership: your ‘outer life’ (the practical skills needed to lead a church and team well), and ‘inner life’ (cultivating rhythms, character that enable you to lead in a way that is life-giving and sustainable over the long term.

The next Leading Well course begins 8 October 2026.
Bookings close on Monday 5 October.

  • Session 1 (Leadership Today): Thursday 8 October 2026.
  • Session 2 (Shaping Church Culture and Leading by Grace): Thursday 12 November 2026.
  • Session 3 (Fostering Collaboration and Managing Pressure): Thursday 14 January 2027.
  • Session 4 (Developing Leaders and Healthy Boundaries): Thursday 11 February 2027.
  • Session 5 (Leading Change and Resilience in Leadership): Thursday 11 March 2027.

Each session runs from 9.30-3.30pm.

We realise a full day on Zoom might not sound appealing, but we’ve put a lot of thought into creating engaging, varied sessions and plenty of breaks. We’re confident you’ll find the experience positive and energising.

All sessions will take place online via Zoom. A joining link will be sent to you before the session.

We know a whole day on Zoom doesn’t sound great, but we have worked hard on how to engage people well on Zoom throughout a day and are confident you will find it a positive experience.

This course will provide you with space to reflect, strategies you can implement and time to process questions with a small group of like-minded leaders, such as:

  • What is distinctive about Christian leadership, and how does this practically shape our priorities and style as a leader?
  • What does a missional and collaborative culture look like, and what is our role in enabling this?
  • How do we facilitate change in a way that enables churches to flourish rather than fragment?
  • How do we establish healthy rhythms of ‘work and rest’ that are life-giving and keep us fresh and
  • focused?

Signing up for this course indicates commitment to attending all five sessions in their entirety, and to around 30 minutes preparation ahead of each session. If you are unable to make the commitment this time round, please do sign up for a later course.

£300 per person

Bookings close on Monday 5 October
