Vicar

St Peter’s Church

Parr | Diocese of Liverpool

St Peter’s Church is praying for a new vicar who will join us in bringing the gospel of God’s love and redemption to the people of Parr, situated in the deanery of St Helens in the diocese of Liverpool.  St Helens lies mid-way between Liverpool and Manchester and is surrounded by two major roads – the A58 and the A580, along with the motorways M6, M62 and M57, giving good links to two international airports, several universities and teaching hospitals.

We are an evangelical church with an outreach ministry to people of all ages and stages in our low-income community.  Our regular activities include a toddler group, coffee mornings, free hot refreshments, and we have good links with local schools and care homes.

Our beautifully re-ordered church building is a focal point for local heritage interest, as well as a flexible space.  Our worship is structured without being overly informal – we do, however, robe for communion and pastoral services.

We are looking for a vicar who will:

  • Work alongside us, to develop and direct the gifts of the whole congregation, and deepen our Christian discipleship;
  • Be a catalyst for our mission to the community, interested in people of all-ages, and able to nurture growth in our church.
  • Offer pastoral ministry within the church family

We can offer you:

  • A small team of dedicated church members who all play our part in the mission and ministry of our church;
  • An ethos motivated by the compassion and love of Jesus where all are welcome, and where we go the extra mile to serve the needs of our community.

This post is offered under Common Tenure EITHER as a House-for-Duty post with a four-bedroom vicarage provided, OR as a part-time 0.4 stipendiary post without housing provided at a stipend of £15,836, depending on the needs of the person appointed.
